The Colt IAR6940CK Complete Upper Receiver Assembly is used on the IAR variant, built to compete in the M27 contract. This monolithic upper receiver features an uninterrupted full-length top rail, allowing for a free-floated barrel with a gas-block mounted fixed front sight post, a heat sink, and a backup rear sight. The barrel is Colt's heavy 16" chrome lined IAR barrel with an A2 flash hider up front. Suggested to be used in conjunction with an H2 or H3 buffer.

Not as advertised, poor customer service
Buyer Beware. This was advertised with a bayonet lug, it was sent without one. It's a neutered version of the real deal. Finish on the FSB/front sight is also poor but a smaller issue in the big picture. This time they deceptively advertised the bayonet lug, what else are they willing to hide/cheap out on? AU will not take responsibility for their error and refuses to make the issue right in any way even though they are at fault. First/last time doing business here, was ready to buy the 11.5 IAR upper in a few weeks and spend a lot more money over time. Forget it now.
