Colt 1911 .45 unmarked slide.
Excellent in every way. Unmarked slide doesn’t effect the 1911 in anyway.

Shipping & Product
Shipping to the FFL was super fast and the series 70 is near flawless out of the box. Only a couple of ergonomic changes are being made.

Unrolled Gold, least I hope so
It came exactly like described. Never seen one before without any roll marks on the slide. Also this one came with a steel mainspring housing, not plastic. That is strange also.

COLT 1911 GOVERNMENT SERIES 70 .45 ACP PISTOL
Great price on a fine Colt. I have another one of the same model and bought this one because the price ($699) was way too good to pass up. These are great shooting pistols. This model is the new version of the pre-70 Series Commercial Model. The left side of the frame has the same rollmarks as the older models but the right side rollmarks are different. Too bad Colt didn't keep them the same. This one is also a few ounces lighter giving them a great feel. The sights are higher profile as well.

Colt 1911 Gov. series 70
My pistol was delivered scratched. I bought this pistol from AU at an amazing price. I was contacted by my FFL that my 1911 had been delivered. The pistol was in the colt plastic case, and then wrapped inside an oil soaked clear plastic bag. I inspected the pistol at my FFL and it looked good. Once at home I again took the gun out of its plastic carrying case and plastic bag. I started wiping all of the oil off with a micro fiber cloth. To my disappointment I found multiple scratches that were through the bluing on the slide by the end of the barrel. This was not obvious until the thick coating of oil was wiped off. The scratched side of the pistol was laying over the safety lock, but not sure that’s what caused it. I contacted Colt and they paid to have it shipped back to the factory. Going on 2 weeks and haven’t heard any updates from them. I’m certain this wasn’t caused by my FFL and I’m sure it has nothing to do with AU. Must have slipped through qaulity control at the factory. Would have given 5 stars if not for this defect. Disappointing.
