Colt Anaconda .44 Magnum Revolver | 4.25 Inch Stainless

Couldn't be happier with this gun and armsunlimited for delivering this 4.25 inch revolver... perfect length for my bow hunting side arm/going with a denali chest holster. In the event I still have a rifle tag unfilled, this bad boy is coming out for some high powered contact. Also... even though the picture is of an older model, rest assured you are getting a newer model/much better trigger and overall gun from what they used to make decades ago/currently pictured.

So a few housekeeping notes. 1. The Anaconda pictured here (as of 9/18/2023) is not correct. You are getting a NEW Colt Anaconda made circa 2023 or newer, NOT this old pictured one, but ArmsUnlimited is so ahead of the curve, that they are selling this before Colt has released a stock image to vendors as far as I can tell. 2. The gun is 4.25", not merely 4" as other titles of reviews have suggested. 3. WOW this is the BEST Colt Anaconda that you can get! And I own all three as well as numerous Pythons. 4. I wish I learned of ArmsUnlimited sooner. I was hesitant to believe the INCREDIBLE pricing of $1299 for each Python or Anaconda, but it is real. This company just must take razor thin margins, but hey, capitalism results in competition which in turn results in the best possible outcome for consumers! We win! They win, but only in volume since their individual profit per firearm must be somewhat low, but trust me, they are legit. Okay, now on to the gun itself. The 4.25" Anaconda is both art as well as utility forged into one. This is THE MOST well balanced Anaconda that you can buy, and the piece can easily handle heavy 44 magnum loads or soft as butter shooting 44 special (my preference for actual carry). I recommend Underwood Ammo for solid monolithic copper defensive rounds, and then just find whatever you can for the cheapest ammo for target practice. With 44, you will likely be spending $1/round or so no matter what. At least in this 2023 economy, maybe that will change over the years if this review is still up then. I like the 125 grain Xtreme Defender 44 special from Underwood Ammo, but find what works best for you. Dirty Harry used 44 special wadcutters in his gun. Buy this while it is in stock, as I suspect it will sell out soon, just as the 8" Anaconda has (as of this writing). Having more than one Anaconda is NOT a problem. This makes the best possible night time bedside protector gun with Underwood Xtreme Defender's loaded up. Only thing you will need to change is the REAR sight to a Wilson Combat sight. I go with the "U-notch" for the 4.25" and 6" Anaconda's, and the "Square Notch" Wilson Combat rear sight for the 8". The U-notch sight is better for fast target acquisition, but less optimal for slow and careful target shooting. That is all you need to know when deciding on which to buy. Are you target shooting? Or will you be using it defensively. Then get that Wilson combat rear sight. I also like their White Gold bead sight from Wilson Combat for the front, but I only changed that out on my Pythons, not the Anacondas. I like the classic look of the Solid Orange notch that the Anacondas come with out of the box for the front sight, and so I only change out the rear sights with the Wilson Combat upgrade. That upgrade is absolutely necessary as the stock sights from Colt are junk (on the rear). Overall, Colt (CZ) has done a phenomenal job on all of these latest Pythons and Anacondas, and having several is a great way to ensure you have a great defensive gun, and a gun your kids will cherish and learn on at the same time.

An exceptional handgun showing that Colt can make a good large bore revolver that`s equal to any of today`s 44 mag`s.... Cylinder lock up at ignition is solid old school Colt. Cylinder/barrel gap is tight but single action trigger pull is a bit heavy and needs lightening, however, my four inch Anaconda was worth the money.....
