The slide is great! The optic mount that is included is for a Crimson Trace red dot. If you are trying to use any other optic I suggest contacting Springfield directly. The raised sights are great!

The front sights on the slide are off center. My red dot is to the right of the front sight and it’s throwing me off. I have tried moving the front sight but it’s extremely difficult. I will try to return and get a new one. And update later if possible.

Fit was perfect just wish they’d give the torx wrench to take off factory plate other than that slid right on and optics fit perfectly

Springfield Armory has come up with a good way to bring the legacy XD into the current optics-ready generation. My only complaint is that the combination of optics mounting plate and the Vortex Venom brings the optic high enough to render the included suppressor height iron sights useless. Not a deal breaker as this is a range toy, but if you're planning on installing it on a carry pistol, plan on using one of the lower-profile optic options.

The slide is very well machined and looks clean. Everything appears to be functioning well. This is high value for any Gen1 XD owners that want to have optics!

Love this slide, allows me to put my optics with ease. Very easy to install.
